Artifacts from a great popular culture, unique items polished by decades of use, are loaded with meaning and have remained with the intrinsic beauty of the form, brought in the lime light by unexpected compositions. This is what the visual artist M.C Donici proposes in a new exhibition of ethnosculpture entitled "100-Year-Old Artifacts", mounted at the Library of Politehnica University Timisoara.

The exhibits are part of the artist's personal collection and have been gathered for decades. Traditional objects and tools that have lost their practical utility over time have been reassembled by the artist's imagination, thus receiving a new, cultural dimension.

Dedicated to the Centenary of Romania, "The exhibition is meant to be a direct presence of the 100 years of coagulation in reality. A 10m high column is present within the exhibition, marking the period's meanders. Assembled in the main lobby of the UPT Library at the intersection of many inland roads, it can be seen in December 2018. In today's globalized society, we will be able to survive through cultural consciousness, and for this we will need education - moral, not just functional - in which we also allocate 10% of GDP to this fundamental area", says the artist.

The opening of the ethnosculpture exhibition took place on Tuesday, December 4th. The "100-Year-Old Artifacts" Exhibition is an event of the Arte-Factum Cultural Association.
