Those interested in the Japanese language and culture have had several pleasant surprises prepared this fall by the Central Library of Politehnica University Timisoara, in collaboration with the Yamato Association.

Thus, in addition to the courses of Japanese language and culture, in a diverse range, in the central hall of the BCUPT was organized an exhibition of kimonos with the theme "Japanese kimono, poetry in motion", whose opening took place on Wednesday, 16 October 2019. The curator of the exhibition is Dr. Camelia Nakagawara, from whom most of the exhibits are personal collections. Some of the pieces in the collection are very valuable, either because they are unique, or because of their age (there are some from the year 1800), or through the materials used (gold thread fabric).

During the presentation, Dr. Camelia Nakagawara explained what the prints on the kimonos represent, how they dress according to the season or what the events and ceremonies they wear.

After the opening, Dr. Camelia Nakagawara gave a lecture on Japanese culture, ceremonies and traditions, especially those related to the kimono.
