The Bologna Teacher's Gala is a traditional project of the National Alliance of Student Organizations in Romania (ANOSR), its goal being to improve the higher education system in Romania by rewarding and promoting teachers. Professor Bologna or "Prof Tare" (Great Professor) is any teacher who transcends the boundaries of the discipline he or she teaches and finds unique ways to reach students.

The 13th edition of the Gala, which took place on May 30, 2021, online, came with a novelty, the title given to teachers being "Prof E-Tare" (Tare means great, and the prefix “e-“ means that the teaching activity that was evaluated was carried out online, using electronic devices and tools). What is a Prof E-Tare? A person who managed to use technology to ensure an interactive and truly student-centered education, to use differentiated platforms depending on the specifics of their disciplines and to organize in optimal and objective conditions the way of conducting the evaluation during the pandemic. With 10 teachers present on the lists, Politehnica University Timișoara is one of the universities with the most “Prof E-Tare” titles. Their complete list can be found at https://profitari.ro/profi-e-tari/.

The foundation of this event is the concept of student-centered learning, in which the student is no longer perceived as a passive subject in the education and training process, but is considered the teacher's partner in acquiring knowledge and builds his or her own academic path. Starting from this premise, ANOSR realized that the change and improvement of the higher education system can be achieved only by supporting the initiative to increase the quality of education, by capitalizing on existing resources and by promoting mentalities and examples of best practices in universities.

Thus, the Bologna Teacher's Gala is the only national initiative designed to pay homage to and reward the teaching performance of professors, highlighting those teachers who manage to inspire and stimulate interest through teaching methods adapted to the needs and interests of today's student. Beyond the research activity and the professional results of the professors, the event aims to reward the quality of teacher and mentor of the Romanian university professor, a quality that is generally forgotten in awarding distinctions and awards dedicated to teaching staff. The title of "Bologna Teacher" is all the more significant as it comes exclusively from students - those who are the most entitled to recognize and appreciate the teaching performance of their instructors.

The students had the opportunity now to show their gratitude to the teachers who inspired them. Any teacher who collected at least three nominations from students had the chance, following the evaluations, to receive the distinction of "Prof E-Tare", offered to professors by students as a sign of gratitude and appreciation for all the effort made during online teaching and learning.

The teachers from Politehnica University Timișoara who obtained the title of "Prof E-Tare" this year are the following: Assoc. prof. Liviu Cădariu-Brăiloiu, Ph.D., associate professor eng.
