Politehnica University Timișoara has, from Monday, March 16, 2020, a new management team, the mandate starting during the crisis related to the measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus and the establishment of a state of emergency in Romania.
The rector elected following the election from the beginning of this year, assoc. prof. eng. Florin Drăgan, PhD, appointed, in consultation with the Senate of Politehnica University Timișoara, the team of vice-rectors next to whom he will ensure the management of the institution and the implementation of the management plan:
The first measures taken by assoc. prof. eng. Florin Drăgan, PhD, are related to the exceptional situation caused by the coronavirus COVID-19 and the measures to combat its spread, at the same time with the need to ensure the good functioning of the university, but also with care for the staff. Thus, an analysis has begun at the level of the administrative services, taking into account working from home, where possible, the flexibility of the work program, respectively the situations in which the parents wish to benefit from the recent legal provisions regarding granting some days off for the supervision of children with ages up to 12 years.
As far as the didactic and research activities are concerned, they must continue throughout this period, the aim being to cover all the activities normally carried out on the Virtual Campus platform, online. At the same time, it was decided to prolong the suspension of "face to face" activities with students until April 16, 2020, considering the publication of the decree 195 / 16.03.2020 regarding the establishment of the state of emergency in Romania.
