On October 11, the Auditorium Hall of the Conference Center of University Politehnica Timisoara, started the international conference on "Water Management in the Context of climate change, event organized by the Aquademica Foundation in Bucharest collaboration with Aquatim SA, the Romanian Water Association and Politehnica University Timisoara.
The event, currently at the seventh edition, takes over the relay from the Eco-Impuls conference, organized as early as 2012. Re-launched under a new name, the conference remains focused on the same topic from an important area of interest for water specialists.
The conference brought together practitioners, researchers, students and academics, policy makers and researchers, funders from several European countries. The topics presented have addressed the challenges posed by climate change management in the water sector. Cutting-edge technologies, directions and trends from the area of development strategies of the Romanian water companies, as well as the forecast of financial performances were some of the topics on the agenda.
An important place was also the debate on the standardization of activities specific to this particular sector. From this point of view, a great step has already been taken by the Romanian Water Association, through the partnership concluded with the German Waste Water Association (DWA), the top name in the development of standards in the field. In fact, Peter Kostner, a Romanian from Reșița and Politehnica graduate, who currently heads the public services in Timisoara the sewerage field within the Munich City Hall, spoke about German experience in the field.
