Politehnica University of Timisoara was delighted to award the title Doctor Honoris Causa to professor Frede Blaabjerg who teaches at Aalborg University in Denmark. Within this ceremony, mr. Blaabjerg presented the dissertation “Experience in Education and Research”.
Considering the scientific, educational and managerial activity worldwide, the 20 years collaboration and the essential contributions in developing, Politehnica University of Timisoara decided to award professor Frede Blaabjerg the Doctor Honoris Causa title.
Frede Blaabjerg – short history
He was born in 1963, in Denmark. He received his Ph. D. in Power Electronics Engineering at Aalborg University in 1995, where today he is a full professor after being the dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Science and the Faculty of Medicine from 2006 to 2013 and the head of the University’s International Doctoral School in 2005.
He published as an author/co-author over 1000 scientific papers, 380 (800) in magazines (conferences) in Web of Science and edited 4 books in Power Electronics. After all this prestigious work, he was awarded 17 IEEE awards and he has got +14500 citations in Web of Science (h index 56), +47000 in Google Scholar (h index 104).
He hold over 500 technical lectures on a national and international scale. Moreover, as a IEEE Distinguished Lecturer at two societies (PELS and IAS), he hold 45 lectures on 4 continents, with a number of 3000 participants totally.
