The RoboTEC international competition, organized by Liga AC volunteers, in collaboration with Politehnica University Timisoara, the Faculty of Automation and Computing and IT & C companies, has already become a tradition in the city of Bega, beginning of spring. Every year, more and more young people, pupils and students join the competition, which has also won the award "Best youth project in Timiş county in 2018 in the field of education". The 2019 edition also brings a record on the number of signups, namely 212 participants from 6 countries (Croatia, Egypt, Italy, Macedonia, Romania and Serbia).
Of the 7 challenges where participants were able to choose (Line Follower Classic, Line Follower Enhanced, Line Follower Turbo, Maze, Mini Sumo, Mega Sumo, Freestyle), the most popular were the Maze and Line Follower Classic.
The aim of the project is to encourage and attract as many students as possible to the field of robotics, giving them the chance to deepen their programming skills and to put them into practice. With each new edition of the contest, this target is always overcome, this year's edition enjoying participants from all corners of the country as well as from abroad.
Serious spectacles of the contest took place at Shopping City Timisoara (March 23) and at the Faculty of Automation and Computing (March 24). And at the end of the contest, the participants were rewarded with remarkable prizes, besides the fact that they also benefited from accommodation, food and free transportation; in addition, no participation fee was charged.
