The latest technologies in the field of additive manufacturing and 3D printing were presented on Friday, June 11, 2021, at Politehnica University Timisoara, in the first seminar in a series of three, organized on this topic in the project "Eastern European twinning on Structural Integrity and Reliability of Advanced Materials obtained through additive Manufacturing”, coordinated by prof. eng. Liviu Marșavina, Ph.D., UPT vice-rector.
Practically, Politehnica University Timișoara, which is at the forefront of research in this new field, in which it has an exhaustive expertise, performing, in fact, the characterization and testing of components made by manufacturers through additive manufacturing, was, this time, a link between suppliers and beneficiaries of products obtained through these new technologies, used more and more.
During the event the SIRAMM project was introduced. Coordinated by Politehnica University Timisoara, this project made it possible to bring to the same table all those interested in additive manufacturing, the latest technologies in the field, adaptation of these technologies in automotive, printing and 3D scanning, design and simulation of additive manufacturing processes, as well as practical demonstrations of 3D printing/scanning, including "reverse engineering", a new process involving the scanning, processing and 3D printing of parts, with an accuracy of 25 microns, or scanning very large parts, up to 4m.
Among the participating companies we mention Nutechnologies, CadWorks, Vitesco Technologies, Continental, ICPV Arad.
