The Inclusion gallery - a manifesto of equitable access to education

The "Inclusion Gallery" is a collection of images of the difficulties faced by people with disabilities in academia, made by 25 artists of all ages, from all over the country. These illustrations mark the start of the awareness campaign initiated by a group of young people from Politehnica University Timisoara. They set out to help people with disabilities through the solidarity project Education for All. The project aims to fight for fair access to education, appealing to everyone's empathy and involvement regarding the severity of the problems faced by students with disabilities.

The campaign will take place online, on the project's Facebook and Instagram pages, and will include challenges and interviews with some of the artists behind the illustrations, with people with disabilities who have overcome their condition and proved they can make it despite the obstacles. The interviews will also feature various influential people from the educational environment or from the local administration who have the desire and power to change things for the better.

The project aims to find solutions, together with the academic community, to the problems identified during the previous online public consultations, which were attended by students from several universities in the country. Following these meetings, the need arose to set up a structure that would focus exclusively on the integration of people with disabilities in the academic community of Politehnica University Timisoara, both physically and socially. The department proposed within the project is an Office for Persons with Disabilities to operate based on a clear methodology and a set of regulations for organization and functioning, which the group will submit to the UPT management.
