Good collaboration, close connections between community members, openness to innovation and willingness to adapt and change are values that Timișoara is proud of and to which Politehnica University Timișoara relates. In the difficult and unexpected times we live in, the management of Politehnica University Timișoara remains an active member of the community, close to people and institutions.
"We decided to make the Casa Politehnicii 2 Hotel (Politehnica House 2 Hotel) available to medical staff who request such a service, in order not to expose members of their own families to contamination", said Assoc. Prof. Eng. Florin Drăgan, PhD, rector of Politehnica University Timișoara.
The support offered by UPT is also addressed to the staff of the Timișoara Military Hospital, with which the institution collaborates regarding the accommodation spaces at the Casa Politehnicii 1 Hotel (Politehnica House 1 Hotel).
At the same time, within the Bureau of the Administrative Board on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, it was decided to set up bank accounts for donations, which can be used by all interested members of Politehnica community to contribute to equipping hospitals with equipment needed to fight COVID-19: an account in lei for employees, students and university graduates (RO04BRDE360SV56462393600) and a euro account for graduates abroad (RO93BRDE360SV56462553600).
It is worth mentioning that Politehnica University Timișoara supports other initiatives of teachers, designed to support the needs of Timisoara, whether it is the development of components for medical equipment with 3D printers, or the development of specific disinfectants or sharing the expertise gained by members of our academic community.
