The ESN Survey is one of the main projects of the Erasmus Student Network. The survey is disseminated in collaboration with 44 countries of the Erasmus Student Network.
The 2023 survey can be found online at http://www.esnsurvey.org.
The questionnaire has three main target groups:
The ESN survey project aims to improve the access and quality of student mobility, with a particular focus on monitoring the Erasmus+ programme. This edition is the most comprehensive so far, with different routes for students participating in mobilities, international students, and students who have not yet benefited from a mobility. The questionnaire also took into account the main priorities related to higher education policies at European level, such as the priorities of the Erasmus+ program or the European University Alliances initiative.
The findings obtained through the questionnaire are published in the report and are used as recommendations for all stakeholders involved in student mobility. The ESN expects to release the results by early September and the report to be published by the end of 2023.
The questionnaire was developed with the valuable support of a group of experts formed by EAIE - European Association for International Education, ACA - Academic Cooperation Association, IAU - International Association of Universities, EUF - European University Foundation, Dr. Ewa Krzaklewska from the Jagiellonian University and Dr. Cristof Van Mol from Tilburg University and by the ENIS research network.
An important objective of this year's survey will be to create national comparisons to analyze how the implementation of mobility programs differs from one country to another, as well as to identify good practices and areas for improvement. ESN is also interested in working on creating separate reports for higher education institutions that have more than 100 responses in any of the categories, as well as joint reports for European university alliances.
