A new agreement signed by UPT
A delegation of Politehnica University Timisoara, led by the rector of the institution, prof. eng. Viorel-Aurel Serban, PhD, on 21-22 February 2019, paid a visit to Budapest to sign a framework agreement with Obuda University. On behalf of the host institution, the contract was signed by prof. Mihaly REGER, PhD, rector.
The new agreement provides for the development of collaboration both on the educational level, by mutual promotion of bachelor's, master and doctoral degree programs, mutual recognition of diplomas, teaching exchanges, organization of competitions in the two universities, organization of dual study programs, the promotion of summer schools, the exchange of information and good practices, as well as research and student exchanges. The agreement was concluded for a period of 5 years.
The two higher education institutions have started working in the academic year 2001/2002 in the field of automation and computers and was initiated by prof. eng. Ștegan PREITL, PhD, from UPT's Faculty of Automation and Computing. Afterwards inter- university relations have been extended, especially in recent years.
We recall that in November 2017, the Rector of Politehnica University Timisoara, prof. eng. Viorel-Aurel ŞERBAN, PhD, received from University Óbuda Budapest the highest honor that can be provided by a higher education institution - the title of Doctor Honoris Causa.
