On Wednesday, 21.11.2018, the Romanian Academy elected through the secret vote of the General Assembly, 4 titular members and 5 correspondent members. Among the corresponding members was also elected Prof.Phd.Eng. Liviu Marşavina, from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Politehnica University Timişoara, the head of the Materials Resistance department.
Prof. eng. Liviu Marşavina, PhD, has exceptional contributions in the areas of resistance and material testing, mechanics of rupture and fatigue of materials, numerical and experimental analysis of stresses and deformations. He is recognized nationally and internationally as an expert in the experimental determination of Breaking Mechanics parameters, in the numerical simulation of crack propagation and in the development of modern methods of estimating the integrity and durability of structures.
The research activity was carried out in international research projects at Loughborough University and the University of Sheffiled (UK), Ghent University (Belgium), Lublin University of Technology (Poland), Slovak Academy of Science (Slovakia), national and international (FP7) research competitions, as well as research contracts with multinational companies such as Rolls Royce, Continental, Adidas, TRW.
As special achievements it is worth mentioning:
Scientometric data from the main databases shows the impact on the field of activity:
