The Politehnica University Timișoara Department for International Relations and the UPT library organize training and information sessions regarding study and internship exchanges in European and non-European universities for UPT students and graduates in the 2018-2019 term.

What is Erasmus+? The Erasmus+ Charter (2014-2021) is programme conducted by the European Union dedicated to education, training, youth and sports that is globally recognised as the most extensive and accessible academic exchange programme. It provides UPT students with the opportunity to benefit from financial aid in order to participate in a study mobility.

The countries that participate in the study mobility programme are: European Union members: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Great Britain, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Hungary); European Union candidates (Macedonia, Turkey); European Economic Area states (Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway). The partner states in the programme are: India, Mauritius, the USA.

The countries that participate to internship mobility programmes in universities and companies are: European Union members and candidates and European Economic Area states.

Who can apply?

  • UPT students that are enrolled in bachelor, master or Ph.D. programmes, except Ph.D. students that are involved in research projects financed from structural funds. Students that are enrolled in the final year of a bachelor programme may apply for a study mobility conducted in the first year of a master programme. The student will participate in the mobility providing that they will be accepted in a UPT master programme). Applications for internships can be filed only while the study contract is still valid.
  • Students who can speak a foreign language. In order to participate in study exchanges, one should consult the list of exchange accords that also contains the languages of the available programmes and the required proficiency level for each language
  • Students who respect the programme terms regarding the minimum duration of a mobility and the total number of mobility days. By enrolling in Erasmus+, students have the opportunity to study or intern abroad provided that the total duration of mobility does not exceed 720 days (bachelor and master programmes in the field of Architecture) or 360 days (other fields) in any study cycle respectively. The minimum duration of a study mobility is of 90 days, while an internship mobility has a minimum of 60 days. The internship days are considered to be part of the recently graduated study cycle. The Erasmus+ programme is a continuation of the LLP-Erasmus programme, therefore if a student has participated in an LLP-Erasmus mobility, those days will be deducted from the maximum number of days for another mobility.
