Future Makers came to UPT with prizes of 20,000 euros

Entrepreneurship Workshop for Students

Tuesday, April 23, 2019, the Library of Politehnica University Timișoara hosted the Future Makers Entrepreneurship Workshop, organized together with the UPT Student Entrepreneurship Society and Politehnica University Timişoara.

The target audience was made up of young people who wanted to find out how to win one of the 7 prizes worth a total of 20,000 euros, that are looking for business ideas that will work both today and in the future, to get acquainted with other young entrepreneurs interested in entrepreneur ship and future trends and who wanted to learn more about the tools that are useful in developing a business model.

In the entrepreneurship workshop on April 23, young people from Timisoara worked on the development of the business model, but they also created a space for conversation about how different industries will evolve and what types of solutions to be built today, which will be sustainable in the future. They also learned more about how to apply in the competition and what types of ideas are searched for in Future Makers.

On this occasion Future Makers invited young enthusiasts of entrepreneurship and the future to put their ideas into practice in the workshops of entrepreneurship and in a competition of business ideas, with prizes of 20,000 euros.

In June, 50 finalist ideas were selected from all the applications received in the competition. For 3 months, they will enter the incubation program, where they will receive support to move to the next stage of developing the idea or business plan. Incubator teams will be linked to other startups from the Global Shapers International Network and provide access to successful mentors and entrepreneurs. At the end of the competition, the teams will have pitches in front of the jury. The prizes, worth 20,000 euros, aim to turn the good ideas of today into sustainable tomorrow's organizations.

The program is funded by the Coca-Cola Foundation and organized by Social Innovation Solutions, a support organization for innovation and social entrepreneurship, and Global Shapers Bucharest Hub, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, part of an international network of 400 cities.
