Italian companies want a closer relationship with UPT

The Framework Cooperation Agreement was signed

The transition period, in which Romania was attractive to foreign investors only in terms of cheap labor, has come to an end, so managers are already looking for new business development strategies in the future. In this respect, on Friday, April 5, 2019, a Framework Cooperation Agreement with Confindustria Romania, an association of Italian entrepreneurs in Romania, mostly small and medium-sized enterprises, was signed at the UPT Rectorate.

The general framework of collaboration aims at higher education of the future employees of the Italian companies, the cooperation relations between UPT and Confindustria Romania will be developed through a series of actions:

• promoting R&D and technology transfer activities, especially on priority areas;
• promotion of continuing education programs, postgraduate and master studies, PhDs, research topics;
• providing the framework for the practice of students in the companies associated with Confindustria Romania;
• generating results of economic interest and stimulating the transformation of research results into new or improved products, technologies and services with market demand;
• developing research infrastructure;
• the development of human resources engaged in research and production;
• establishment of integrated research laboratories etc.

The signing of the agreement was attended by Mr. Roberto Marchetto, President of Timis Territory of Confindustria Romania, Mr. Niccolò Maso, Honorary Consul of the Italian Republic in Timişoara, prof. eng. Viorel-Aurel Şerban, PhD, Rector of Politehnica University Timişoara, and prof. eng. Marius Oteşteanu, PhD, Vice-Rector of UPT.
