In the period of 7-9 May 2018, Politehnica University Timisoara represented by the rector of the institution, prof. eng. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the cooperation relations between the two universities and it was completed by establishing, at the level of the two rectors, the opportunity to broaden the cooperation framework. In the near future, a new official meeting will be set for signing the new Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.
We recall that in November 2017, the Rector of Politehnica University Timisoara, prof. eng. Viorel-Aurel ŞERBAN, received from Budapest Óbuda University the highest distinction that a higher education institution can award - the title of Doctor Honoris Causa.
The two higher education institutions started the collaboration in the academic year 2001/2002, on the line of automation and computing, the initiator being prof. eng. Ştefan PREITL, Ph.D., from UPT's Faculty of Automation and Computing. Afterwards, inter-university relations have been extended both on the academic side, through exchanges of professors and students, as well as on research, going to partnership relations in several international projects.
