Politehnica University Timisoara awarded 20 students with 1000 lei each

Politehnica University Timisoara, the oldest higher education institution in the west of the country, which will soon celebrate a century of activity, has been, since its inception, the engine of Romania's main economic development area, largely due to the thousands of graduates who have proven the skills of the engineer trained in Timisoara. In almost 100 years of operation, the Timisoara Polytechnic has always had two reliable partners: pre-university education and the economic environment.

In order to support students with good academic performance and a poor financial situation, the management of Politehnica University Timişoara decided to award 20 prizes of 1000 lei each, to some deserving students, in high schools situated in disadvantaged environments. 

In this respect, through the Career Counseling and Guidance Center, 20 pupils from the 10th and 11th grades with very good results in education but with a precarious material situation were selected from four counties (Arad, Caraş-Severin, Hunedoara and Timiş). They were invited to visit Politehnica University Timisoara, and were awarded during the festive opening of Career Days, on March 27, 2019, at the Politehnica Students’ Cantina in the Students Complex.

After the awards ceremony, they visited Politehnica University Timisoara to get acquainted with the academic environment, with their prospects and the facilities they will enjoy if they choose to become UPT students.
