Student enthusiasm at the second edition of PoliCult

Politehnica University Restaurant hosted on Monday, April 11, 2022, the trivia competition PoliCult, organized by second-year students from the Communications and Public Relations section of the Faculty of Communication Sciences within UPT. The event was open to all the students from Politehnica University Timisoara and, much to the organizers’ joy, 17 4-people teams answered their invitation.

The students found in the second edition of PoliCult an opportunity to meet up, test their knowledge and have fun since they had resumed in-person classes.

The project was conducted in collaboration with Liga FSC and coordinated by assoc. prof. dr. Adina Palea, Ph.D.

The goal of the event was to provide Communications and Public Relations students an opportunity to practice their organization and planning skills. Therefore, every single aspect of the event – graphics, PR, invitations, reservations and approvals, fund raising, decorations, consumables, logistics, moderation – was handled and implemented by the second-year students with support from the Student Organization from the Faculty of Communication Sciences (Liga FSC).

The contestants were also enticed by the prizes offered for the winners – tickets to Flight Festival, Arad Open Air Festival andd vouchers for Foto Iconic.

Rebeca Rakoczi, a former student at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, offered the participants a short, special musical performance.

The organizers were also supported by the teaching staff of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, represented by: prof. dr. Daniel Dejica-Carțiș, Ph.D., the dean of the faculty, assoc. prof. dr. Mugur Dragomir, the project initiator, prof. dr. Vasile Gherheș, director of DCLS, and assoc. prof. Mariana Cernicova-Bucă, who gifted students a series of dictionaries from the collection she had coordinated.
