The Polyvalent Hall of the Central Library of Politehnica University Timișoara hosted a presentation of scholarships and study programs in Japan on Thursday, May 23, 2019. On behalf of the Japanese Embassy in Bucharest, Mrs. Florentina Toma presented the main categories of scholarships and study programs that can be accessed by high school graduates, students, university graduates, teachers or administration officials.

For the students from Politehnica University Timisoara, present in a significant number at the presentation, the offer is all the more interesting as the technical field is one in which Japan excels.

Among the programs that have been presented we mention:

  • Scholarships ("Undergraduate Student") addressed to high school graduates or graduate students, including full bachelor studies;
  • Research Fellowships (“Research Student") to faculty graduates or students in their last year;
  • Teacher Training Program (“Teacher Training Program”) for teachers wishing to improve their professional training in their field of work;
  • Japan Language Studies and Japanese Studies (“Japanese Studies”), addressed to those studying Japanese as a primary language at a university outside Japan;
  • Young Leaders Program for Young Public Officials with the prospect of playing an active role as opinion leaders;
  • Mirai Program, a 2-week student cultural exchange offered by the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

At the end of the presentation, students and teachers could ask questions about study opportunities in Japan.
