Challenges and facilities for students

On Monday, January 14, 2019, a new exam session begins for students of Politehnica University Timisoara. A new challenge, especially for those who want a scholarship. And in this chapter, UPT has always rewarded the performance, awarding the largest scholarships in the country for the meritorious students.

For those with straight 10s for the entire academic year, the scholarships reach 1,500 lei per month, and they can also be accumulated with social scholarships or special scholarships granted for results obtained in nationally and internationally recognized competitions or for participation in volunteering actions. A student who learns can thus earn over 2,000 lei per month. The high level of performance scholarships motivated many of the students, proof being that over the past academic year, 35 students ended with straight 10s, compared to 15 students in the previous year.

But scholarships are not the only incentive offered by Politehnica University Timisoara. Students of the institution have the best conditions for learning. During the session, the UPT Central Library, the most modern in the country, extends its operating schedule and is open daily from 9am to 12am. Even more, there is also a 100-seat reading room, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, a unique service at national level (this was used even during the holidays, being requested also on Christmas and New Year's Day).

If during the year the UPT Library has an occupancy rate of about 70% (1000-1,500 people per day), during the session, the occupancy rate reaches 100% (over 2,000 people per day). In addition to the state-of-the-art library equipment (computers, printers, scanners, group study rooms, WI-FI internet access), it also provides relaxation moments during intensive study periods (sunbeds, table tennis).
