On Thursday, February 24th 2022, the Library of Politehnica University Timișoara hosted a new edition of the BUPT Awards, an event where the most active users of the library are celebrated. The UPT Library has been awarding its most active users for 5 years, in an effort to encourage reading and support the academic performance of the readers.
The rector of Politehnica University Timișoara, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Florin Drăgan, Ph.D., opened the event and reminded everyone present about the Politehnica spirit, still alive today in the university’s second century within the new, modern walls of the library. Attending the event, Prof. Dr. Eng. Daniel Dan, Ph.D., UPT vice-rector, expressed his gratitude for the library users’ thirst of reading and knowledge; Dr. Eng. Agneta Lovasz, Ph.D., BUPT director, outlined the efforts that were made to adapt to the new requirements of online learning, especially during the pandemic, including making tens of thousands of library works available in digital formats; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Ovidiu Tirian, Ph.D., the dean of the Faculty of Engineering in Hunedoara evoked the “infinite universe” that is hiding in every library.

The event was once again accompanied by an artistic moment, a traditional music recital by brothers Casian Bianga (saxophone), recently graduated from the Faculty of Management in Production and Transportation, currently a master students, and Răzvan Bianga (accordion), second-year student at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication and Information Technology.
