UPT at the NAFSA 2019 Annual Conference and Exhibition

In May 26 - 31, 2019, in Washington, Politehnica University Timisoara, together with 23 other universities in Romania, attends the NAFSA Annual Conference and Exhibition, the largest international event promoting the international offer, under the aegis of the National Council of Rectors and with the support of the Erasmus National Agency and UEFISCDI through FDI-2019-0708 - the field of Internationalization of Higher Education in Romania.

The Washington event, considered to be the most important in the field of education, brings together about 10,000 participants from over 3,500 universities in 100 countries.

University representatives have the opportunity to present their educational offer to those present at the event and to conclude new partnership agreements with higher education institutions around the world. An official reception with international partners was also held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at the Study in Romania stand.

The Delegation of Politehnica University Timișoara is composed of assoc. prof. eng. Florin Dragan, PhD, Vice-Rector, and eng. Hannelore Filipescu, PhD, Head of the Erasmus+ Office. The main objective of UPT's participation is to increase the international visibility of the university from the point of view of the educational offer, to create new collaborations and to strengthen the relations with the existing partners present at the event.

Moreover, Politehnica University Timișoara, which offers several programs of study in English and German, has already started a project of increasing the degree of internationalization, by internationally promoting the image of the university as a ”University of Advanced Research and Education”.

The Study in Romania platform (www.studyinromania.gov.ro) promotes Romanian higher education globally, contributing to attracting national and international students into study programs from the educational offer of Romanian universities. Information from the platform is provided by universities, which have the opportunity to use an easy promotion tool that contributes to the internationalization of Romanian higher education.
