Thursday, December 12, 2019, the ceremony of the Romanian Academy awards for the most representative scientific and cultural creations made in 2017 took place. In a festive setting, in the Classroom of the Romanian Academy, the awards were presented by Ioan-Aurel Pop, the president of the Romanian Academy, in the presence of the Presidium Bureau and the members of the General Assembly.
There were awarded 70 awards, which reward the Romanian cultural and scientific performance of the year 2017, materialized in individual papers or realized in collaboration.
Of these, three returned to groups of authors from Politehnica University Timisoara, two from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and one from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering:
The prizes of the Romanian Academy are 81, each having the name of a personality from the scientific and cultural fields represented in the 14 sections of the Romanian Academy: philology and literature, history, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geonomy, technical sciences, agronomy and forestry, medicine, economics, legal sciences and sociology, philosophy, theology, psychology and pedagogy, arts, architecture and audiovisual, information science and technology.
