ISWinT (International Student Week in Timisoara) 2023

ISWinT (International Student Week in Timisoara), now at its 29th edition will take place between 23rd of July and 2nd of August 20

ISWinT (International Student Week in Timisoara), now at its 29th edition, is one of the first projects organized in post-communist Romania, for the youth, which annually brings over 150 international students for 7-12 days to participate in activities and workshops that promote personal development, civic engagement and multiculturalism.

The objective of the ISWinT 2023 edition is to raise the level of awareness of over 150 international students in relation to existing problems in society, through training sessions. Also, ISWinT 2023 aims to support them with intellectual resources and specific skills in creating their own initiatives aimed at solving the respective problems in their own communities.

This year’s theme is “Connecting the dots” and the organized workshops will have the next main topics: “Society without boundaries”, “Health and well-being”, “Developing our town” and “Education done right”. They will give the participants the opportunity to express their experiences and opinions on these subjects, while gaining experience in how to deal with problems from such domains, in their communities or in society as a whole. At the end of one of the training sessions (tracks) each team of participants will have created project that could be implemented.

ISWinT will expose the international students to both Romanian culture and multiculturalism. The activities have been selected in such a way that the whole experience is educative, not only the workshops. The Romanian Night will simulate a traditional Romanian wedding, with all of the customs (food, music, clothes etc.). The International Night will highlight traditional dishes and experiences from all over the world, each country having a stall in which you can taste, talk and enjoy a unique experience. The Parade is one of the most memorable events. All the participants take on the streets of Timișoara in a huge event with flags, music and happiness.
